San Diego Mission Project

“Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them.” – Hebrews 7:25

Through Campus Crusade for Christ Amanda Abeling was able to travel to San Diego, CA on a ten week mission project, June 1-August 7. The main theme for the summer was “Jesus Is Better”. I was with 120 other college students from all over the country. There were students from New Mexico, Virginia, North Dakota, and Minnesota just to name a few. Every week they went to a college campus to share the gospel and lead bible studies on the book of Hebrews. I was at Grossmont Community College, which is a two year school. They were able to start up a Campus Crusade for Christ organization on campus, which has been a mission goal for ten years.

While Amanda was in San Diego, she was able to share the gospel on Mission Beach and on the Boardwalk as well as on campus. Campus was a great experience for her. She was able to learn how to lead a bible study. Amanda was put on a ministry team called Training team. This team trained the project students on each campus how to effectively share the gospel to others with apologetics, discipleship, bibles legitimacy, and spiritual multiplication. Every week on campus she was able to co-lead a training session on each topic. Amanda was also apart of a team called Fireseed. This team was at four different colleges. The mission was to find leaders on campus and start a Cru movement for the fall. It was awesome being part of the Fireseed team at Grossmont Community College and see a movement start and to see how the Lord provided the campus with student leaders for the fall. She was excited to hear how the movement grows! Every Friday night they held a community worship program called Friday Night Live. They sang worship songs, had an amazing worship band, and the director of the project spoke

The greatest growth that Amanda has seen in herself is her Christian walk. She has come back with a desire to have quiet time reading my bible. She is excited to go back to MSU Mankato and use what she has learned and lead her own bible study to freshmen girls. Her goal for the next year is to deepen her Christian walk, continue to share her faith and the gospel on her campus, and minister to the girls in her bible study.

Amanda wants to say “Thank you Zion” for the continuous prayer support throughout the summer.
