Christian Education

Zion Sunday School - Begins with students at three years of age and continues through the eighth grade. Traditionally, our Sunday School program is one of our strongest programs for teaching children the love of the Lord.  Activities include crafts, singing, service and various programs and pageants. Sunday School runs year around and begins on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am.

Junior Confirmation Classes - Beginning in the fifth grade and running through the eighth grade year, students are taught Bible history, Luther's Small Catechism and other aspects of Christian life.  Classes meet on Wednesday evenings 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm and run congruently with the school year.

Fifth Grade & Sixth Grade studies Old Testament stories one year and then the second year studies New Testament Stories
Seventh Grade studies the Ten Commandments and the Apostles’ Creed
Eight Grade studies the Lord’s Prayer, Baptism, Lord’s Supper, and the Office of the Keys & Confession.

High School Bible Class – Every Sunday morning at 9:45 am in the choir loft, High School age youth meet for the study of God’s Word.  They study topic’s of relevance to their daily lives.

Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study - We not only encourage our kids to study, but we also make it a high priority for the adults as well. Every Sunday morning we meet at 9:45 am for study of God’s Word.  These courses are most often taught by one the pastors, but it is not out of the ordinary for a qualified lay person to take the role of instructor as well.

Monday Evening Intensive Bible Study - Come and join us on Monday evenings as our class studies the Scriptures and participates in conversation that takes an in-depth look at God’s Word. Study guides are distributed every class session to assist the members of the class in their preparations for the next class session. Questions are encouraged and everyone is welcome.

Wednesday Morning Bible Study - Every Wednesday morning at 10:00 am members of the congregation come together for Bible study. 

Thursday Morning Bible Breakfast – Every Thursday morning at 6:30 am members of the congregation meet at the Ram-Kota Inn for breakfast and Bible study.

Zion Women's Bible Study - This study provides opportunity for ladies of the congregation to meet in a more informal setting. It meets Sunday mornings at 9:45 am.

Adult Confirmation Classes – Each spring and fall Zion regularly has an adult Confirmation class in which people who are new to our denomination are taught Christian doctrine.  Upon successful completion participants may become communicant members of the congregation.

Men’s Study - Meets once a month to discuss different books on being a Christian Man.  Contact the church office for days and times.

Zion Vacation Bible School - VBS is held every year after regular school is out in the summer for grades nursery through six. Parents and members as well as the general public are informed as to specific dates, times and places.
