Douglas J. D. Bergelin was born to Rev. Darrel and Deede Bergelin in Sheboygan, WI, he is the sixth of ten children. He attended
Trinity Lutheran Church, Howards Grove, WI where he was baptized and confirmed.
He received his elementary education from St. Paul Lutheran School in Sheboygan and graduated from Sheboygan Lutheran High School. He went to Concordia University Wisconsin, graduating with degrees in Pastoral Theology and Theological Languages in 2003. He entered Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO in the fall of 2003. He did his vicarage at Zion Lutheran Church, Denison, Iowa. He graduated from Concordia Seminary St. Louis in May of 2007. Douglas was Ordained at his home congregation on July 1, 2007. He was installed at Zion Lutheran Church, Bismarck, ND on August 5. Douglas is a sports fan, primarily of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
