Dear Zion,
Things here in Cambridge are great! I just wanted to drop a short note to let you know that things here are fine. I am sorry my correspondence has been so light. Classes and traveling and other things have kept me busy. I just wanted to thank you for your continued support of me both in prayers and finances.
Today, I had a modern church history class and later I have a philosophy/ethics class. I am taking a few classes at the music facility and also teaching choir myself here. We play soccer a lot; I am getting better! Every year Weshfield plays Oberuersal in a grudge match, so we had better get better. I miss all of you dearly and will do better with correspondence. Check for journals and sermons on the web.

Holy Land 2

Holy Land (12/12/06)

I hope things are fine in ND! I have been on the trip of a lifetime. We started out at the Mediterranean Sean and finished at the Garden Tomb. We saw so much in five days that I can hardly describe it. My favorite point would have to be sailing on the Sea of Galilee. I hop you are well, I am crossing over into Jordan today, continue to pray for me

Athens - Acropolis 2

Athens – Acropolis (12/12/06)

Dear Zion,
In this postcard one can see the Acropolis in the picture. Very near, but not pictured here is Areopaugus where Paul preached to the Greeks. My trip has been so fascinating thus far. Continue to pray for me as I pray for you. Thank you for all you have given me so far and all you have done for me.
God’s Blessings,
Ryan Drevlow

Pyramids of Giza 202

Dear Zion Lutheran Church,

It is Christmas Day and I am in Egypt. I feel like Joseph escaping Herod. We have enjoyed our time here in Egypt and have traveled with a very “local” tour group. We have gotten a very good feel for Egypt.
I missed all of you over Christmas and hope you are well and enjoying your holiday.

Your Seminarian,
Ryan Drevlow

Istanbul 2

Istanbul – (12/30/06)

Dear Zion Lutheran Church,
How are you? Today we are headed to the ancient city of Ephesus. Istanbul was great. We spent 2 days there and saw the Blue Mosque, Haghra Sophia and the Grand Bazaar.  The Haghra Sophia was a church and for a period of time it was the largest and oldest. In 641, the Muslims invaded and converted it into a mosque. After that the church has never been a church. I am missing all of you and hope you are well. Thank you for all that you do for me in my preparation for the ministry.

The Prison of St Paul 2

Ministry of Culture (1/2/07)

Dear Zion,
Greetings to you from the ancient city of Philippi.  Pictured on this postcard is the “Prison of St. Paul”. Tradition says it was here that the chains fell of Paul and the Jailor was about to kill himself when Paul told him not to fear.
Thank you for all you do!

Holy Meteora Net Ascension 2

Holy Meteora: Net Ascension (1/8/07)

Dear Zion Lutheran Church,
I am nearing the end of my trip. This will be my last postcard. Meteora was a beautiful area of Greece. There were monasteries perched on high boulders. Very picturesque.
Blessings,
Ryan Drevlow

Greece Euzones Soldiers 2

Greece: Euzones Soldiers

Dear Board of Education,
Sorry for the handwriting, I am in a car headed to Corinth. They are two cities Old Corinth and New Corinth. Paul planted a church here in the late 50’s A.D.! The city was important because they would portage ships over the isthmus between the Mediterranean and Aegean. We will see all the places St. Paul was talking about. We might even stand where he stood.
God’s Blessings,
Ryan Drevlow

London 2

London

Dear Zion Lutheran,
It is good to be back in merry old England. To be truthful, I would have preferred to come home and tell all of you about my travels. I suppose that day will come. Thank you for all that you do for me.
