After High School, Ryan studied music at the University of North Dakota and finished a degree in Music Education.  In Minot, North Dakota Ryan served as a music minister for Our Lady of Grace Church and this church work eventually led him to study for the Ministry at Concordia, St Louis.

Ryan is from a preaching family. His Grandfather was a pastor in Rural Minnesota for many years.  He is the fourth child of six kids and enjoys spending time with his family, all eighteen of them.  Ryan has studied at St Louis Seminary now for two years and went to China in July of 2006 to teach English in Tianjin, China. Upon his return he took a whirlwind tour of North Dakota, preaching at churches that have shown him support throughout his Seminary career.  After a year of studies in England Ryan began his year of Vicarage serving at Apostles Lutheran Church, Peroria, Arizona.
