Zion’s Youth Ministry Programs
Kids’ Celebration for kids in grades 1 through 5: High-energy games, crafts, music, supper and a Bible theme, Kids’ Night is held monthly throughout the year.
7th & 8th Grade Group: Meets periodically throughout the year for fellowship, fun, Christian service and spiritual growth.
Power Hour: The
fun and fellowship part of Zion’s Confirmation program. Power Hour is held throughout the school year. It consists of games, supper, community building and Bible-based topics.
9th – 12th grade Group: Includes all of Zion’s young people of High School age. This group has regular fun events, service projects, retreats, fundraisers, camping trips and Bible Studies throughout the year.
”Zion High”: Held
weekly on Wednesday evenings for 9-12 graders. This group meets in the Loft and includes Devotions, community builders, games, prayer and food.
High School Sunday Morning Bible Breakfast: Grades 9 through 12 meet in the Loft at 9:00 am on Sunday morning for Bible Study and a light breakfast.
Cross Training: High
School aged young people from the 4 local LCMS congregations (and their friends) meet the first Sunday of every month for Bible Study, games, music, refreshments and community builders. Cross Training rotates
between the 4 churches throughout the school year.
Summer “Hang Time”: One day per week during the summer, the young people of Zion spend time together visiting Bismarck’s Parks and recreation spots.
Annual YMCA Lock-in: Sponsored by the Bismarck-Mandan LCMS Youth Council this yearly lock-in is for young people in grades 6 through 12. Swimming, Bible Study, devotions, music,
games and food fill the hours.
Zone Lutheran Youth Fellowship (LYF), District LYF, District LCMS Camps, and National LYF Gathering are all
opportunities for the young people of Zion to connect with other Christian young people across the state and nation. Gatherings, retreats and camps are held yearly with the National Youth Gathering being held
every 3 years.
